For our first unit, we covered water safety & usage.
We learned the difference between bottled, tap, and distilled water.
Bottled water is sold in stores, it's expensive, and usually comes from a spring.
Tap water comes out of your faucet and it's inexpensive.
Distilled water is free of all solids and is made by collecting and cooling steam from boiling water.
Solution - a mixture made of two or more substances.
Dilution - making a substance weaker by adding water.
Threshold - the point of beginning.
Concentration - the measurement of one substance dissolved in another.
PPM - Parts per million.
We also researched and analyzed the Cholera Epidemic of the 1850's.
